Every year, several cultural events take place in Andros. The most important of these events are:

Art

Exhibitions of the Goulandris Foundation (Modern Art Museum) and the Kydonieos Foundation belong to the top artistic events of the year.
In the past the Modern Art Museum has shown exhibitions of works by (among others) Joan Miro, Pablo Picasso, André Masson, Issamu Noguchi, Moralis, Gikas Hadjikyriakou and Sophia Vari. This year (2015) the Man Ray exhibition is shown.
This year's exhibition of the Kydonieos Foundation is dedicated to the painter and engraver Ralli Kopsidis and also displays works by 11 different artists.
Period: July, August and September.

Festivals

The new, open-air theatre in Chora hosts - this year (2015) for the first time - the "International Festival", aiming to become an annual event. The program includes theatre performances. This season:
Greek Tragedies: "Troades" (Trojan Women) by the National Theatre, "Acharnes" (Acharnianen) and "Ekklisiazouses".
Also on the program: the diachronic "Madame Sousou", music and dance performances and concerts by famous artists.
Period: August 1st - August 30th.

During the summer months local associations organize local festivals are by with and traditional music and food.

Art route

Along the old trail near Livadia works by 7 artists are to be seen this year (2015). They made constructions of materials found in the immediate environment. It is a way to highlight the ephemeral character of the goods and the fragility of substance and nature. This year, the art route has been extended with a series of interactive works in Chora.
